What is Pediatric Dermatology and who is a Pediatric Dermatologist?
Pediatric dermatology is a sub-specialty in Dermatology and Pediatrics, which has been growing rapidly in the past few years, as have been other sub-specialties in Pediatrics such as Neurology, Cardiology and others.

In Israel, the founder of the Pediatric Dermatology field is Dr Arye Metzker, who established the first Pediatric Dermatology clinic in Beilinson Hospital and subsequently in Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel. Under his guidance and encouragement, more physicians specialized in this unique field.

What training do Pediatric Dermatologists have to complete?
Pediatric Dermatologists are physicians who have completed all of the following:- Seven years of general medical school.
- 4.5 years of specialization in Dermatology.
- 4.5 years of specialization in Pediatrics, or two years of fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology.
